K7 opens VR zone

February 21, 2017

International media consultancy K7 Media is to invest in a cutting-edge virtual reality (VR) zone in its Northern Quarter offices in Manchester, where its global client base and employees can experience content and formats built for 360 and VR platforms.

Recently, K7 Media expanded its range of indispensable reports with a new series of daily updates on the latest digital developments across VR, AR (Augmented Reality), VoD platforms and online series. In addition, the company simultaneously launched a new series of reports focused specifically on branded content and the new opportunities this presents for companies working within the TV industry, advertising and digital worlds.

Phil Birchenall, Projects Director at K7 Media, explained: “An increase in the number of inbound enquiries regarding VR and 360 technology prompted our investment in this leading technology.

“The purpose of our new ‘K7 Media VR Zone’ is to offer our clients the opportunity to experience the very latest in virtual reality. We have been tracking this emerging technology for years and it increasingly features in our daily, weekly and monthly media reports. Our global client base wants to learn more about it, and we’re ideally placed to bring our insight to this rapidly developing field.”

The ‘K7 Media VR Zone’ will also enable the informed and expert K7 Media team to offer demonstrations and talks on virtual reality to existing international clients, those working in the creative sector and local higher and further education establishments.

The ‘Zone’, which will be brought online before the end of this month, will include a high-end Oculus Rift device alongside the Google Daydream, powered by the latest Google Pixel smartphone.
