Garside appointed BBCW Indie Director

BBC Worldwide has appointed its current Head of Strategy, Matt Garside, as Director of Independent Production, a new role that will involve oversight of the company’s indie portfolio strategy, performance and future investment opportunities.
Following an active period in the market over the last 18 months by BBC Worldwide, Garside will be tasked with supporting individual company growth and development plans, and his appointment will see him lead negotiations on any future investments as well as ensuring effective governance of BBCW’s indie investments.
A BBC Group veteran of 10 years, Garside is currently BBC Worldwide’s Head of Strategy and Business Development, a position he has held for the last year, working across a variety of regions and business areas.
