Netflix has tapped into 5 million subscribers in Germany, taking a 20 per cent share of the OTT market, although Amazon Prime Video is still the market leader with a 47 per cent share.
Netflix launched in the country in September 2014, where as Amazon Prime Video became available in February of the same year (via the rebranding of LoveFilm).
German research company Goldmedia has issued the data, saying that Sky Go holds the Number 3 spot and Maxdome is at Number 4.
Berlin-based Goldmedia interviewed some 50,000 German consumers to collate the data.
