Italian VoD platform Chili has added over 100,000 new customers during April, taking another step towards reaching the milestone of 1 million customers (expected during May) four months in advance of the initial target.

The OTT platform offers first view movies after their cinema release as well as a vast catalogue of movie and TV series in pay-per-view.

Users can stream or download content on Smart TVs, Blu-Ray devices, PCs, tablets and smartphones. There is no monthly subscription or activation fee.

Since launching in Italy in June 2012, Chili has since expanded to other markets such as the UK, Poland, Germany and Austria.

Although it is still controlled by its founders (Antares Private Equity, InvestinChili,   Negentropy Capital Partners, Tony Miranz and Ferruccio Ferrara), last year four Hollywood majors joined as shareholders – Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Viacom and Warner Bros.
