South Africa’s e.tv commercial broadcaster has added four additional channels onto the country’s DStv pay-TV bundle of channels.

The channels have already been transmitting on the nation’s struggling Platco Digital’s OpenView free-to-watch terrestrial service as well as on rival Star Times Media and On Digital Media pay-TV bouquets.

Now eMovies+ (DStv 138) and eMovies Extra (DStv 140) will be available to DStv Premium, DStv Extra, DStv Compact, DStv Family and DStv Access subscribers from May 17th.

“e.tv’s multichannel strategy has been amplified with the partnership with MultiChoice,” says Marlon Davids, MD at e.tv. “We are excited to reach new viewers with quality content that will add more pleasure to their viewing experience on this service”.

“This partnership between e.tv and the continent’s largest pay-TV and video entertainment provider gives us an opportunity to deliver top-class entertainment to South African viewers,” says Mark Rosin, eMedia Investments COO in a statement.

The 4 channels are: eExtra, eMovies+, eMovies Extra and eToonz+.
