AMC to launch Spanish OTT platform

AMC Networks Iberia is reportedly finalising an OTT platform for Spain with over 1,000 hours of VoD content and 17 TV channels.
Branded Selekt it will be integrated into the platforms of the largest operators, Telefónica, Vodafone and Orange, at a low cost, between €5 and €10. Very similar to AMC Premiere in the States marketed at $5 through Comcast.
Selekt will compete with Netflix and HBO but working hand-in-hand with the largest operators.
Among the channels to be distributed by the OTT platform are: AMC (series), Canal Hollywood (films), Sundance (independent cinema), Xtrm, Somos (soup operas), Dark, Historia, A&E, Crimen e Investigación, Odisea with documentaries; Canal Cocina and Decasa with lifestyle programmed; Canal Panda (children) and Sol Música. Others are Biggs, Blast and the esports channel Machinima.
