Dish India Q1 revenues decline

Dish TV, India’s largest DTH broadcaster, saw a drop in both subscriber growth and revenues for the quarter-year ended June 30th (the company’s 1st quarter), and lower than market expectations.

Subscription revenues for the 3 months was Rupees 6.917 billion (7.282 billion in Q1 last year) and a fall of 5.1.

During the quarter, 186,000 net new subscribers have been added, closing the broadcaster’s subscriber base of 15.7 million.

Dish TV is in the process of merging with Videocon d2h, although is still awaiting approval from the country’s Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
