French company Arkena, an affiliate of broadcasting service company TDF, has been chosen by France Télévisions to develop its new SVoD platform that is scheduled to launch early next year. Arkena has expertise in the development of OTT solutions, and its capacity offer in the cloud is specially built to handle multi-screen broadcasts and large contents volumes.

France Télévisions has already signed up with around ten of the biggest French producers and distributors, and the SVoD platform’s business model is based on revenue sharing, with 20 per cent of the revenues going back to the content producers.

Talks are also on-going with public broadcasters partnering with France Télévisions – including RTS, RTBF and Radio-Canada. France Télévisions invests €50 million into its digital activities per year.
