Hulu’s UX, Live TV (beta) on Roku

September 21, 2017

Hulu’s new experience and Live TV (beta) service are now available on Roku Ultra, Roku Premiere+, Roku Premiere, Roku Express, Roku Express+, Roku Streaming Stick (3600), Roku 4, Roku 3 and Roku TVs. The revamped interface and option to subscribe to the Live TV plan gives users the power to surface all their favourite TV in one place. Support for additional Roku devices is expected to come soon.

Writing in the Roku blog, Ziba Kaboli-Gerbrands, Director of Content Acquisition, describes the new Hulu experience as even more personalised, making it easier to watch what you love across all Hulu plans. “Roku users can create personal profiles to pick your favourite TV shows, networks and movies. The more you watch, the more Hulu will tailor the experience to your liking,” she advises.

“Roku users with the new experience can now subscribe to Hulu with Live TV (beta) plan. Subscribers to this plan can enjoy live and on-demand programming from more than 50 popular sports, news, entertainment, kids channels as well as local broadcast channels in many cities — plus Hulu’s entire premium streaming library with limited commercials — all for just $39.99 [€33.32] per month. This includes 50 hours of Cloud DVR recording storage, up to six individual profiles and two simultaneous streams per account, with options to upgrade to an enhanced Cloud DVR with 200 hours of storage and unlimited in-home concurrent screens,” she notes.
