At least 190 Premier League TV games from 2019

November 17, 2017

A minimum of 190 Premier League games will be televised live in the UK from start of the 2019-20 season. Premier League chairmen voted unanimously for the package, with the rights set to go out to auction within the next few weeks.

A new package of Saturday night games is set to be offered to broadcasters, along with an increased number of midweek and Bank Holiday matches. The new contracts will replace the record £5.136 billion deal struck with Sky and BT Sport in 2015 to air a combined 168 matches per season.

The Premier League has to Ofcom that it will make at least 190 games available in the next three-year deal, which runs from 2019 to 2022. It did not reveal whether chairmen had voted to support a configuration of packages that will see 190, 200, or 210 games screened live.
