KDG: 30% under 30 time shift online
February 18, 2013
A third of Germans aged 16-29 are increasingly using time-shifted Internet TV services rather than broadcast channels, according to a survey carried out by Ipsos for Kabel Deutschland (KDG).
About 70 per cent of young adults accessed online services via a smartphone, compared with 47 per cent of the population as a whole and only 30 per cent of over-50s, according to the survey. Only 14 per cent of respondents access the Internet via a tablet, ranging from 8 per cent of 50-70 year-olds to 17 per cent of 16-49 year-olds. About 17 per cent of Germans in total are using time-shifted TV.
Ipsos surveyed 1,000 Internet users over the age of 16.
