Cablevision loses pay-TV subs as revenue rises

Cablevision has reported a loss of pay-television customers but a gain in high-speed internet customers. Revenues were up 8 per cent from 12 months previous at $1.67 billion, but organic growth was nearly flat. Revenues from pay TV services were up despite a loss in subscribers in the past three months.

Copaco IPTV for Paraguay

Paraguayan state-owned operator Copaco will launch its long-planned IPTV service on December 15th. The service will be available as part of a triple-play product suite, also including fixed telephony and broadband internet access. Viasat adds CTC to Baltic pay-TV

Viasat Broadcasting has signed a five year exclusive agreement with CTC Media, Russia’s leading independent media company, to distribute the international version of the CTC channel in the Baltic territories. SingTel adds Sony’s ONE channel

SingTel has signed a carriage deal with Sony Pictures Television Networks, Asia for the HD channel ONE. Ofcom tightening up ‘ownership’ rules?

VoD service SeeSaw closes

UK VoD service SeeSaw appears to have closed for good, following an initial planned closure in June. Time Warner Cable slides 10%

Time Warner Cable has missed Wall Street forecasts, sending the cable company’s shares down as much 10 per cent, as it lost more video customers than expected and lost phone customers for the first time.
