Swisscom has announced its IPTV subscriber base has risen 44 per cent to 608,000 in 2011. In its Italian Fastweb subsidiary, the broadband service that provides Sky Italia programming, 71,000 subscribers were added – including 34,000 in the fourth quarter.

But the recession in Italy has impacted with net revenue falling 7.1 per cent to €1.746 billion. Swisscom revenue fell 4 per cent to CHF11.4 billion (€9.4bn) with EBITDA flat at CHF4.5 billion.
