Orange TVCheck app for UK
April 2, 2012
Orange is launching its smartphone app for interacting with TV shows to the UK. User point the phone camera at the TV to identify shows by cloud based signal processing then they can share their viewing habit with social networks.
The app has had about 100,000 downloads since release in France last year. It will be available to non-Orange customers through both iOS and Android.
Orange said TVCheck’s social and interactive features, including gaming, can be adapted to the needs of broadcasters. It will be available across 25 free-to-air channels, including the BBC’s channels, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5.
