April 10, 2012
Interactive TV software and solutions provider Alticast is partnering with online video specialist Brightcove to integrate fully Alticast’s Windmill ecosystem with Brightcove’s Video Cloud online video platform.
Windmill allows operators to add advanced interactivity to existing systems while providing new revenue models and future-friendly expandability. Based on a set of modular technologies, Windmill enables TV operators to bring their content to any device in the home easily and cost-effectively.
The end-to-end system is built on the company’s longstanding expertise in open, standards-based software and supports a variety of systems including cable, satellite, DTT, hybrid and IPTV.
Brightcove’s cloud-based Video Cloud online video platform and Alticast’s Windmill offers an intuitive television user experience that spans devices and consumer technologies. Viewers can navigate and enjoy their digital content from anywhere, anytime and on any device.
Thomas Jung, Chief Marketing Officer for Alticast, said the relationship offered customers easy access to high quality online video content on any connected device. Chris Johnston, director of technology partnerships for Brightcove, said the company was focused on making it easy for its customers to reach their audiences on any screen or device.
