India’s Airtel DTH broadcaster is again reporting quarterly losses of almost 2 billion Rupees (1.94bn Rupees, about $36m), much the same as its 1.95 billion loss in the period to December 31st. The loss is greater by 500 million Rupees than the same period a year ago. The accumulated losses from Bharti’s DTH division now amount to some $134 million.

However, overall revenues were up at Rs 3.56 billion ($66m), an increase on the preceding quarter’s Rs 3.23 billion, and well ahead of last year’s Rs 2.55 billion.  Monthly ARPU rates grew from Rs 160 to Rs 166 (an increase of just 11 US cents, to $3.08 per month).
