TiVo hits back at Cisco

TiVo has hit back at Cisco, which issued its own legal challenges against the DVR specialist last week, by mounting its own legal counter-suits over IP rights.
Cisco is arguing that the US courts should void certain TiVo-claimed patents, and thus enable Cisco – and in particular its former Scientific Atlanta set-top box division – to avoid paying for those IP rights within its own boxes. TiVo has refused to license these IP patent elements to Cisco for use in DVR products.
TiVo has filed its actions against Cisco in the US District Court at Marshall, Texas.
