October 11, 2007

Redback Networks, an Ericsson company that makes video-centric routers for 75 triple-play networks, has been selected by French telecom operator Neuf Cegetel to build its next generation fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) aggregation network for both residential and business services.

Under the new deal, Redback and Ericsson will deploy and maintain Redback SmartEdge 1200 multi-service edge routers to aggregate optical access nodes into a high speed, 10 Gbps metro Ethernet network.
