Argentina to adopt Japanese standard for HDTV
September 3, 2009
Argentina will adopt the Japanese standard for high-definition television (HDTV) over its competitors from Europe and the US, Argentine President Cristina Kirchner has confirmed.
She ratified a memorandum between the Argentine and Japanese governments on introducing the Japanese standard ISDB-T and setting out cooperation between the two countries in the sector. Kirchner also signed a cooperation accord on HDTV with Brazil, which has dubbed its version of the Japanese standard, the ISDB-Tb.
