Miniweb, the cloud-based video distribution platform for connected TVs, has signed an exclusive, international advertising sales agreement with smartclip – the online video advertising sales network. The deal will generate advertising revenues from Miniweb’s connected TV application, woomi.
Advertisers will roll out campaigns across woomi over the next few months, supported by an already strong line up of content from the likes of EZTakes, Openfilm, Radiant Pictures, Videojug and blinkx.
Via smartclip, advertisers will be able to book ‘in-video’ formats such as 30 second spots initially, with more formats being rolled out over the course of 2011. woomi users can be targeted based on the content they are watching, their location and demographic data, offering brands the visual impact of a TV advert, while benefiting from the targeting and accountability capabilities of being online.
Jean-Paul Wevers, UK Publisher Director of smartclip, comments, “This exclusive deal with Miniweb is significant in our development of providing further video advertising outlets for media agencies and their clients. Miniweb is a pioneer in offering advertising supported video to users through connected TV’s and we know that there is substantial demand from advertisers across Europe to reach their customers through connected TV’s.”
