IP Vision, a UK provider in the DTT/IPTV over-the-top (OTT) TV sector, has unveiled FetchTV Guide, a HD UI that displays hybrid content from linear TV, IPTV and connected devices in an easy-to-use, vertical grid. FetchTV Guide features a Backwards EPG and displays thumbnail images of content, enabling the viewer to snack on trailers and programming while browsing content. The new UI, available from Summer 2011, allows service providers to benefit from the increased consumption of on-demand content that comes from the merging of linear and on-demand content into a single view.
The Software Development Kit (SDK), launched to accompany the new UI, enables content developers to create engaging content and helps new service providers to roll out new services swiftly.
With FetchTV Guide, the origin of any item of content – whether it be broadcast, downloaded online, streamed over a home network or storage device – is transparent to the viewer. Access to all content is harmonised, with online content presented alongside broadcast TV, delivering a truly integrated connected TV experience.
