Channel 5’s digital sales manager Lee Leborgne is leaving the broadcaster to join online global entertainment TV channel Reelkandi TV in the new role of head of UK media sales on May 1st.
In addition, Channel 5’s media ad sales manager Amil Shah has also joined Reelkandi as ad sales manager. He’ll take up the role next week.
The female-skewed web-TV channel, which has content partnerships with publishers including Female First, Entertainment Wise and Gigwise, has made the appointments as part of its strategy to bolster its commercial team and prepare for expansion onto web-connected TVs.
CEO Andi Super said the appointments of Leborgne and Shah signal a “step change” in the market for companies like Reelkandi, placing them in direct competition with the major broadcasters for VOD ad spend.
