Verimatrix and SMiT partner on hybrid security solutions

Verimatrix has announced an extended partnership with SMiT that pairs ViewRight cardless security with an advanced CI+ CAM design. The combination of Verimatrix security and the SMiT CI+ CAM platform enables a new range of advance revenue security solutions for the wide range of connected TV and other devices that support this new expansion standard.
Shenzhen State Micro Technology, a global designer and provider of CAM devices, will be offering the SMiT ViewRight CI+ CAM in a in a low cost consumer format that is used in conjunction with set-top boxes and connected TVs that support IP connectivity to their CI+ CAM slots. The IP connection enabled in the CI+ architecture, used in conjunction with a modern connected TV device, supports a fully hardened implementation of the Verimatrix ViewRight cardless security client. The combination of TV and CI+ CAM enables a full client device implementation for DVB Hybrid terrestrial and cable network architectures, offering ane alternative to a full STB deployment.
