India’s giant Hathway Cable & Datacom is to launch its HDTV bouquet this June in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore. IT will roll out to other cities and regions shortly thereafter, said the company. Subscribers will need a new cable receiver box which will contain NDS encryption and Middleware.

K. Jayaraman, MD & CEO, Hathway Cable & Datacom Ltd., said: “The launch of HD services will provide our subscribers with a significantly enhanced viewing experience.”

Commenting on the launch, Mr Jayant Changrani, Country Head and General Manager NDS India said “We are extremely positive about Hathway’s continued growth in the coming years as we enable them to deliver on the promise of digital pay-TV and provide advanced features and value added services. This development reaffirms NDS and Hathway’s commitment towards leading the Indian cable TV industry beyond digitisation.
