Telekom Austria expands TV channels

Telekom Austria Group has confirmed that A1 Kabel TV, the IPTV offering of its Austrian subsidiary A1, will be expanding its service to include more regional and foreign-language channels. Effective immediately, A1 Kabel TV will provide additional Serbian and Turkish channels, as well as 10 new foreign-language stations. The number of channels in A1 Kabel TV’s basic package will be increased by 20 to encompass over 110 TV stations, in addition to 30 premium and 10 HD channels.

A1 Kabel TV’s basic package, which currently encompasses 19 foreign-language channels, will be further expanded to include 14 new foreign-language broadcasters. Along with additional Serbian and Turkish channels, the service will provide Chinese, Czech, Hungarian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian and Spanish TV programs for the first time.

The regional offering for Carinthia and Tyrol has also been expanded and now includes two brand new TV channels. Channels such as N24, Astro TV, Hip 90, MediaShop and ORF 2 Europe (including sign language) have also been recently added to the A1 Kabel TV’s portfolio.
