Masstech to introduce new Emerald v7.5 at BroadcastAsia 2011

June 9, 2011

Masstech, the provider of powerful tools for media asset management, bridging workflows and high-speed transcoding will showcase the new Emerald version 7.5 Lite Edition and TOPAZ v7.5.1 at BroadcastAsia2011 in Singapore from June 21 to 24.

Brad Redwood, Vice President International Sales and Marketing at Masstech Group said: “This year we’ll be using BroadcastAsia as a platform to launch our new product Emerald v7.5 LE to the Asian market. Emerald offers digital archiving, HQS (High Quality Speed) transcoding and content management all on one common platform at breakthrough price-performance.”

Emerald version 7.5 LE
Emerald shatters conventions to make LTO tape archiving, HQS transcoding and content management more widely accessible to the mainstream broadcast market. In keeping pace with the challenges of today’s evolving ecosystem, Emerald performs efficient file based archiving where scaling is not required. Like her big sister TOPAZ, Emerald LE comes with active integration to various end-points including video servers and NLE’s. Digitally preserve your valuable stories and content with automated workflows in Production, Newsrooms and mini-MAM broadcast applications.

Doubling up as a mini MAM, Emerald performs efficient file-based archiving where scaling is not required. As a standard built-in feature, Emerald integrates tightly into popular Newsroom Computer Systems (NRCS) like AP-ENPS and AVID’s iNEWS via Media Object Server (MOS) protocol. Using the iNEWS and AP-ENPS interfaces, newsroom staff can research archived content, search slugs linked to video archives, browse archived content, and quickly make shot selections without moving from their desk.

Packaged for out-of-the-box operation, the Emerald turnkey package includes server hardware, LTO library, software and first year’s support. Alternatively Emerald can be accessorized and built to order making for easy implementation.  Masstech’s Fee-FREE unlimited storage licensing policy means Emerald has virtually infinite storage capability.

Key differentiating features:
– Broadcast HSM for LTO tape archiving
– ‘MOS’ interface to iNEWS and AP-ENPS
– Avid ISIS, Unity, Interplay Archive, DET and DHM support
– Apple FCP interface
– Built-in HQS Transcoding Engine for Interoperability
– Content Management for Media Lifecycle Workflows
– Unlimited Storage with no License fees for Tape or Disk
