EchoStar CFO departs

David Rayner, CFO at EchoStar is to leave the company November 8 “to pursue other opportunities” said a regulatory filing late on October 28. He was appointed CFO in June 2010. He will be replaced by Ken Carroll, currently EchoStar’s SVP/business development.

Rayner, who received some $860,000 in total compensation last year, served as EchoStar’s Chief Administrative Officer from January 2008 to June 2010. Prior to that, he was EVP/Installation and Service Networks at DISH Network and had previously held the position of CFO at DISH Network from December 2004 to September 2006

Carroll, 56, is a 20-year veteran of the satellite TV and broadband industries. Previously he served as COO of the company’s EchoStar Satellite Services subsidiary from August 2010 to June 2011. Prior to joining EchoStar, Carroll was president and COO of WildBlue Communications from 2003 to 2010. He previously served as CFO for Liberty Satellite & Technology and direct-to-home satellite TV provider PrimeStar.
