Poland’s ‘n’ goes OTT

November 28, 2011

Poland’s leading DTH service Platform ‘n’ will launch a new OTT service today. ‘n’ says nVOD NET will virtually transform the Platform ‘n’ satellite receiver into a multimedia home entertainment terminal, giving subscribers access to thousands of additional videos and movies.

As a supplement to Platform ‘n’s existing linear content, the new nVOD NET service will feature fully interactive functionality and a vast array of films, documentaries, TV series and other programming, including exclusive VoD collections from launch partners TVN and HBO.

“Today’s news continues our strategy of providing our customers with the best premium content and latest technology innovations,” said Christian Anting, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Platform ‘n’. “With the launch of nVOD NET, Platform ‘n’ will give subscribers the ultimate in-home movie viewing experience, taking video functionality to a whole new level. We are able to offer access to the best content from leading television producers like TVN and HBO, as well as local and thematic program offerings via broadband connection.”

From the start more than 50 per cent of Platform ‘n’s current customer base will be able to access nVOD net by simply connecting the decoder to the Internet via cable or WiFi.

Initially, the nVOD NET program offer will include HBO On Demand and TVN Player, a catch-up tv service offering the best of TVN’s shows and local productions.

During the promotional period of 28 November 2011 until 29 February 2012, access to the nVOD NET service will be free of charge. Afterwards, customers will be able to choose between a variety of free and paid collections.
