Accedo, an enabler of Smart TV and IPTV applications, and Verimatrix, the specialist in securing and enhancing revenue for multi-screen digital TV services around the globe, today announced a partnership to help enable the delivery of compelling and engaging over-the-top (OTT) video applications.
The Verimatrix Video Content Authority System (VCAS) for Internet TV, which provides a complete digital TV security solution for OTT services, is now available integrated with Accedo’s application solutions. The resulting combination of sophisticated user interfaces with robust Verimatrix security will help accelerate the penetration and business potential of multi-screen services for operators around the globe. The joint solution is already available across mobile devices and LG Smart TVs, and is expected to launch shortly on other platforms.
“With the proliferation of Internet-enabled services, through Smart TV and mobile devices, DRM solutions are becoming increasingly important,” commented Michael Lantz, CEO, Accedo. “We are excited about our new partnership with Verimatrix, which will enable operators to deliver the highest-quality viewing experience to their customers using Accedo applications.”
“IPTV, Smart TV and mobile open up a wealth of opportunities for operators to enhance their service offering with interactive services,” commented Steve Oetegenn, chief sales and marketing officer, Verimatrix. “Accedo has a great deal of experience in this field and we are pleased to be working with them to deliver secure and appealing next generation video services.”
Accedo will be demonstrating live TV and VoD using the Verimatrix Video Content Authority System at its suite in the Venetian at CES, from 10th -13th January 2012.
