Genexis – a European market expert in home gateways for fibre-to-the-home – has acquired the CPE (Customer Premises Equipment) business unit of PacketFront. With effect of the 1st of February, all activities of the business unit will be fully integrated into Genexis and its new subsidiary – Genexis AB – based in Stockholm, Sweden.
“This acquisition marks an important step in Genexis’ ambition of becoming the leading supplier of home gateways to the fiber-to-the-home market worldwide,” says Gerlas van den Hoven, CEO of Genexis. “The PacketFront CPE business has played a determining role in the development of fiber- to-the-home networks. With the PacketFront business unit team and product portfolio, Genexis strengthens its leading position in the market. We will continue our strategy to provide FTTH operators and service providers with the most advanced, user-friendly, and cost-effective home gateways available.”
“With the divestiture of the CPE business unit, PacketFront can focus on its three remaining businesses, our FTTH Access Division, our FTTH Network Solution Division and PacketFront Software Solutions AB,’’ says Henrik Scharp, CEO of PacketFront. “In addition, PacketFront will now be able to offer an even more comprehensive portfolio of CPE products as part of its FTTH Network Solutions offering to existing and future direct customers as a distribution partner of Genexis.”
“Combining forces with Genexis creates the benchmark supplier and partner for FTTH network operators,” says Tom Andersen, the Managing Director of the newly formed Genexis AB. “Fiber-to- the-home is increasingly becoming the choice for communication providers worldwide. With our joint FTTH CPE portfolio and combined sale force we are uniquely positioned to support our existing and new customers in the best way.”
