Sky News Arabia, the rolling 24-7 news channel j-v between BSkyB and Abu Dhabi Media, is undertaking final technical rehearsals in readiness for a “spring” launch. Full studio rehearsals are slated for the end of February.
Sky News Arabia is using a fully converted giant studio at twofour54’s broadcasting hub facility in downtown Abu Dhabi, and which will have a huge 10 metre-wide video wall as well as 11 HD-equipped cameras covering all the studio’s discussion and news areas.
Nart Bouran, head of Sky News Arabia, told local journalists that the move to the new site is a significant milestone in the Sky News Arabia launch plan. “We are already carrying out technical rehearsals and will start with full studio rehearsals later this month. Our investment in this high-tech studio complex affirms our commitment to provide fast, fresh live, evolving news across our multiple platforms – television, tablet, mobile and online.”
