Free Wi-Fi on London Overground

March 26, 2012

Commuters using London Overground train stations are set to get 60 minutes of free Wi-Fi each day thanks to a deal between the London Overground Rail Operations Limited and BSkyB subsidiary The Cloud.

The rollout across 56 stations will begin this summer and is scheduled to be completed before the end of the year. Users will be asked to carry out a one-time registration process and then be able browse the web and access email.

The range and speed of the network is yet to be announced, but The Cloud is confident that users will be able to “stream media within the vicinity of the station”.
