Soft Vallée provides France 24’s Newsroom with optimized News Production Management software

April 13, 2012

In March 2012, SOFT VALLEE started implementing its brand new Teamium Production « Newsroom » software, adapted to FRANCE 24’s specific needs.

Launched in December 2006, FRANCE 24 is a leading 24/7 international news channel that broadcasts its programs over the airwaves and over the internet in French, in English and in Arabic. FRANCE 24 is the first 100% digital channel, from image capture to broadcast, requiring the latest and most efficient technological solutions.

Conceived and developed by SOFT VALLEE, Teamium Production « Newsroom » software was created to simplify FRANCE 24’s organization and optimize production workflow. A solution adapted to the demands of a newsroom and a staff of 420 journalists, with daily orders of over 100 news subjects, and a planning-out of all correspondents.

On this same platform, the channel’s Production Management has access to all of its service providers, and can book required means of production in just a few clicks (booking request).

On an Administrative level, all work provided by correspondents or freelance journalists are entered, thus allowing for an automated financial processing.

« The issue for France 24 was to integrate a coordinating tool between the editorial and production teams, while providing management teams with precise cost monitoring. The Teamium Procution Newsroom solution is flexible, quick to implement and based on tried and tested technologies. Furthermore, its upgradability is an asset for Audiovisuel Extérieur de la France », explains Bruno TEZENAS-DU-MONTCEL, Technical and Information Systems Director of AEF.

After an initial agreement at the start of the year, implementation of this solution was made in just a few weeks. Adapted to the specific needs of FRANCE 24, and renamed Noria, it is based on the Teamium software suite.
