Apple puts UK iTunes movies in the Cloud

July 23, 2012

Apple has expanded its iTunes in the Cloud service for movies to the UK, some 12 months after it was first introduced in the US.

The service lets allows users to watch movies purchased through iTunes on iPhones and iPads without using any extra storage space on the devices.

Apple says it has secured rights deals with major studios, including Warner Bros and Universal, to bring the service to the UK, Ireland and 38 other countries around the world.

iTunes in the Cloud is part of Apple’s iCloud service, which allows music, films and TV shows to be digitally transferred to a number of devices via wireless connections.
