Euroconsult’s annual look forward has come up with a remarkable prediction: that more than 1000 satellites will be launched over the next 10 years. The Paris-based researchers anticipate that 1075 satellites represent a value of a staggering $198 billion, up 36 per cent on the value of those satellites launched over the past 10 years.
The forecast covers commercial satellites for broadcasting as well as governmental (ie military) and data and communication satellites which launch into lower orbits.
