RiksTV uses Ekioh engines to launch OTT services in Norway

Ekioh, providers of the widely deployed TV compliant Scalable Vector Graphics engine, has announced that RiksTV have launched a range of new services in Norway using Ekioh’s SVG & HTML engines. The Ekioh engines are at the heart of two new digital hybrid set top boxes manufactured by Strong which are being sold to Norwegian customers through the retail market.
By offering two rendering technologies, SVG & HTML, RiksTV have been able to provide the best possible scope for their content partners. Visually rich and highly animated applications are written in SVG; whereas, more static applications are authored in HTML. “Our new service offering, which includes access to YouTube, VGTV, TV 2 Sumo, Beat and Film on demand from SF Anytime, ensures RiksTV maintains its leadership”, said Christian Birkeland, CEO at RiksTV.

At launch, the RiksTV service includes broadcast services, Film on demand from SF Anytime,YouTube and TV 2 Sumo Basis, an 8 day catServices to be launched shortly include Beat -‐ a streami VGTV, an on demand news and entertainment service.
