November 28, 2012
Cable ONE, the USA’s 10th largest Cable MSO, has become the latest cable operator to offer the TiVo multi-screen, multi-source experience to its subscribers.
The operator has selected TiVo as its exclusive software provider for all new DVRs purchased, and plans to offer its subscribers TiVo’s user experience and next-generation video services starting with TiVo’s whole-home and multi-screen suite of products.
Cable ONE will commence roll out of its TiVo offering beginning during the first half of 2013 as part of its broader plan to make the TiVo experience available throughout its footprint by the end of the year.
“The way our subscribers consume video entertainment is rapidly changing and we focused on a solution that will put an extensive amount of content choice right at the viewers’ fingertips in a way that is easy to find and watch – on any screen,” commented Jerry McKenna, Senior Vice President, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer of Cable ONE. He said that collaborating with TiVo allowed the operator quickly to implement a cost-effective and market-tested offering that immediately gave its subscribers access to the best TV experience on any screen in the home. “TiVo’s multiplatform solution allows Cable ONE to simultaneously deliver existing QAM linear and next generation IP on demand video experiences which is one more reason we are extremely excited to team up with TiVo and eager to begin the roll out,” he stated.
David Sandford, VP, GM of TiVo’s Service Provider Business, said that like many operators around the globe that found themselves immersed in a fiercely competitive market, Cable ONE understood the necessity to provide a compelling and modernised television viewing experience that would delight their customers.
