January 7, 2013

German subscribers to Deutsche Telekom’s IPTV service Entertain will soon be able to view Sky Deutschland’s channels.

The “cooperation agreement” signed between the two will kick in later this summer and covers the Sky-D’s key Bundesliga football coverage as well as games from the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and golf and tennis fixtures. The 4 year deal also covers Sky’s core channels and movie services.

The news is extremely positive for News Corp-backed Sky Deutschland, and helped propel its stock price up another 2 per cent in early trading January 4th (to €4.45), but this means an overall gain over the past 30 days of 50c.
