February 19, 2013

Verimatrix, the specialist in securing and enhancing revenue for multi-network, multi-screen digital TV services around the globe, and Swedish triple-play operator Com Hem, have confirmed that the Verimatrix Video Content Authority System (VCAS) has been selected to secure Com Hem’s advanced multi-screen TV services scheduled to launch Spring 2013. The new service will be delivered via the TiVo advanced television solution.

Verimatrix VCAS solutions provide a complete security infrastructure for advanced multi-network pay-TV services. Com Hem’s broadcast and hybrid STBs will feature advanced cardless ViewRight clients that complement enhanced HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) ViewRight Web support for PC/Mac, tablet and mobile devices – all from a single conditional access (CA) platform

Jens Persson, development manager of Com Hem, said a single source for rights management across linear and on-demand content offered its customers the absolute best television experience. “Verimatrix has provided excellent support in the integration of VCAS with TiVo and we look forward to launching one of the world’s most advanced TV services,” he stated. Joshua Danovitz, VP and GM, international, TiVo, said the advanced IPTV solution would allow non-set-top-box subscribers to enjoy TiVo, for the ultimate combination of traditional and next-generation television. Steve Oetegenn, chief sales and marketing officer, Verimatrix, said the deployment highlighted the power of hybrid network architectures. “Providing an integrated experience across these touch points demands a sophisticated combination of user interface, metadata and security technologies,” he added.
