The Dubai Cabsat show revealed that technology specialist Harris Broadcast has won a valuable contract to supply DVB-T2 equipment to the Saudi Broadcasting Corporation (SBC).

The new kit will further SBC’s efforts to covert the nation to DVB-T2, adding Harris-supplied transmitters for the Aded and Yabren regions, and will be the 9th region to be equipped by Harris.

Specifically, Harris Broadcast will supply compact, energy-saving Maxiva, ULX (3.4kW) and Maxiva UAX (2kW) UHF transmitters in cooperation with its local Saudi Arabian dealer and systems integrator First Gulf Company (FGC). Both models feature the Harris Broadcast PowerSmart architecture for the broadcast industry’s highest power density and operational efficiency for over-the-air transmission; and incorporate the Apex M2X multimedia exciter to ensure best in class performance, reliability and signal quality.
