SeaChange extends Stofa deal

May 15, 2013

SeaChange International, the global multi-screen video software provider, announced that Denmark’s second largest cable television operator, Stofa, has signed a multi-year service and maintenance contract for its SeaChange Adrenalin VoD services.  Stofa has been a customer of SeaChange since 2007 and this new contract further extends their longstanding relationship.

Stofa is a triple-play operator serving about 400,000 Danish households.  It provides a broad service offering covering television and pay-TV, broadband internet and telephony.  In addition to VOD, its Adrenalin supported television services include time-shift TV, a 48-hour catch-up TV service, Web-TV and Web-TV-2-GO, Digital Video Broadcasting-C/IP set-top and personal video recorder services.  To support this broad range of TV services, Stofa also uses SeaChange’s CASIS and STAGIS System Information/Program Specific Information solution.

Adrenalin is based on an open service-oriented architecture which delivers a television experience that scales to serve millions of TV programmes, movies and other assets to any video device across multiple network types, either deployed in a network or in a hosted model.  SeaChange will demonstrate Adrenalin and its other VoD, multi-screen and advertising software solutions during the ANGA COM conference in Cologne, June 4-6.

“With 400,000 subscribers, we need to know that our VoD service is stable and reliable and that we can resolve issues without visible impact on subscribers’ enjoyment,” said Thomas Helbo, CTO, Stofa.  “SeaChange has been delivering high quality technology and services to us since 2007 and we are very happy to extend our partnership with them again.”

“We are delighted to continue our strong relationship with Stofa in yet another demonstration of our focus on this region, with customers from Denmark to Estonia,” said Andrei Noppe, General Manager, SeaChange EMEA and APAC. “Throughout Europe, customers come to SeaChange for our deep experience and expertise in on-demand service development.  Today, SeaChange’s customers across Europe serve an estimated 36 million subscribers on televisions, PCs, tablets and mobile phones – and this number is growing.  Our open and flexible platform provides a fast way to market, with a cost-efficient path to future growth in subscribers, services and device platforms.”
