EdgeCast, TeliaSonera partner on content delivery

Content delivery network specialist EdgeCast Networks and Nordic telco TeliaSonera have agreed a managed CDN accord that will bring new site acceleration and CDN solutions to TeliaSonera’s customer base while expanding the reach and capacity of the EdgeCast network.
Under the agreement, both companies will make significant investments in high-performance network infrastructure, along with sales and marketing efforts, to address the massive demand for acceleration and CDN solutions across TeliaSonera’s Nordic markets. TeliaSonera will offer solutions to achieve great web performance and scalability for websites and applications to the Nordic enterprise market. For media and entertainment, TeliaSonera will provide reach and quality for over-the-top media delivery.
TeliaSonera will leverage its regional network presence, along with EdgeCast’s CDN technology, to build out a regional CDN that will be directly connected to EdgeCast’s worldwide network. EdgeCast suggests that its customers will realise significantly improved performance and reach to end users throughout the Nordic region.

The companies have begun the network deployment and services are already available from TeliaSonera.
