Ireland’s online AerTV viewing up 130%

June 4, 2013

Irish-owned online television service AerTV has reported a 130 per cent year-on-year increase in customer usage for the first quarter of this year.

The service — which was launched 18 months ago — attracted 500,000 unique visits during the first three months of the year, with over 25 million minutes of television being consumed.

The ComReg-regulated service is Ireland’s only free alternative to Saorview, where viewers can watch all the Irish channels online free on their PC, tablet or smartphone.

According to AerTV’s director Philippe Brodeur: “AerTV is now Ireland’s favourite place to watch TV online and these figures prove that…. We intend to continue our growth, offering our customers even more exciting new content and channels. Our mission is to offer consumers the TV they want, when they want it and where they want it“.

AerTV offers all of the Irish terrestrial channels free on its basic package with access to additional premium channels, including the BBC channels, on AerTV Plus for €5.99 per month.
