Verimatrix, the specialist in securing and enhancing revenue for multi-network, multi-screen digital TV services around the globe, has confirmed that Stofa, Denmark’s second largest cable operator, has deployed the Verimatrix Video Content Authority System (VCAS) for Internet TV to provide an enhanced revenue security foundation for Stofa’s SmartTv over-the-top (OTT) solution.

The video service is delivered over-the-top of Stofa’s existing broadband network via HTTP Live Streaming (HLS), and features a range of live and on-demand TV channels, including premium content from C More and HBO. SmartTv also features fully interactive control functions such as pause, rewind, movie rentals and start-over, and content is available on multiple screens, including computers, smartphones and tablets.

“Stofa is committed to providing our subscribers with the content and the service options they crave,” said Thomas Helbo, chief technical officer, Stofa, who added that to offer its subscribers more choices, it first needed to ensure that it could effectively secure multi-screen services, not only to prevent piracy and revenue loss, but also to ensure a high quality of experience (QoE) for its valued subscribers.
