By Chris Forrester

canadaPay-TV viewing in Canada fell during Q2, by just 10,800 subscribers, but the fall was not offset by a commensurate rise in IPTV which has usually been the case.

Indeed, according to data from IHS, this is the third consecutive quarterly fall in pay-TV subscribing. Q4 2012 last year saw a fall of 11,950 and Q1 this year saw core subscriptions fall 27,840.

Looking at the overall picture at the number of cancelled cable or satellite viewing numbers and there were 108,160 cancelled subs, but only 97,360 IPTV new subscribers.
