Fox acquires 100% of LAPTV

paramountFox International Channels (FIC) has confirmed the purchase of Paramount Pictures share of LAPTV, bringing FIC’s ownership of the company to 100 per cent. LAPTV is the leading operator of premium movie channels in Latin America.

Paramount has also extended its long-term content output agreement with Fox. The deal gives FIC access to new Paramount feature films in Latin America, (excluding Brazil). LAPTV operates Moviecity and other premium channel brands, also has a long-term content output agreement with MGM, Universal Studio and Twentieth Century Fox.

“I’m very excited to announce that Fox International Channels will now own 100 per cent of LAPTV, I am sure that we will leverage and increase the value of our product proposition to our affiliates, distributors and advertisers,” said Carlos Martinez, President of FIC Latin America, who recently named Edgar Spielmann as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of FOX International Channels Latin America.
