Witbe, the next generation monitoring company, is rapidly gaining market share in North America. With recent client wins, most of the largest cable operators in the US and Canada are now using some, or all, of Witbe’s video test and monitoring solutions.
In terms of TV subscribers, analysts Dataxis confirm that Witbe’s solutions are used by 55 per cent of the US cable market and 35 per cent of the Canadian cable market. Overall, service providers representing 43 per cent of cable, satellite, DSL and fiber TV subscribers in the USA and Canada are using Witbe’s solutions.
Witbe, developer of next generation test and monitoring solutions for voice, video and data applications, has become a major actor in the Americas as service providers have been launching multiscreen/TV-Everywhere services. With its offices in New York and Montreal, along with its recently announced Latin American hub in São Paulo, Witbe has been signing major contracts with many of the largest tier one operators in the region. These include three of the four largest cable operators in the USA and two of the four largest cable operators in Canada.
“Dataxis reports quarterly figures on service providers’ market shares per country and per service. We’re seeing the Pay TV market in North America as quite stable overall, but more subscribers are moving from cable TV to telecom operators’ IPTV services,” explains Pascal Orhan, CEO of Dataxis. “To stop the flow, cable operators have been launching innovative features that require a new generation of test and monitoring solutions to control usability, performance and quality. Witbe has captured this opportunity to secure an impressive 55 per cent of the US cable market.”
“The Pay TV market is undergoing major changes, moving from linear TV to interactive TV and from the fixed TV screen to smartphones, tablets and PCs. As features become more complex, delivery infrastructures more fragmented and viewing devices more numerous, service management is an increasing headache for video operators,” comments Jean-Michel Planche, Witbe President and co-founder. “Witbe’s next generation test and monitoring solutions have been designed for these specific complexities. We provide actionable information and analytics for operators and content providers to control and improve their multiscreen video services. Our dramatic growth is a great endorsement to our vision and technical innovation.”
