Quiptel, a provider of next generation Internet TV software platforms announced that it has joined the OIPF as a new member.
The Open IPTV Forum has been working on specifications to enable and accelerate the creation and adoption of a mass-market for IPTV, and Quiptel is excited to join this important industry organisation.
Peter Do, Chief Technology Officer Quiptel said: “Quiptel is delighted to be a member of the OIPF. We look forward to working together as an industry in helping to facilitate the adoption of open standards that accelerate the roll out of IPTV and OTT services globally.”
Quiptel’s Media Platform (QMP) provides operators, content providers and broadcasters with an adaptive streaming technology solution that dramatically reduces overall bandwidth requirements whilst consistently delivering high quality video content to customers, irrespective of device, hardware or network. The Internet represents a new era of broadcast network and the “Open Internet profile” as defined by OIPF supports the accelerated pace in the last couple of years of Over-the-Top (OTT) content demand. Quiptel uniquely manages the end-to-end delivery of Internet delivered TV and Video services using this profile, and fully expects the OTT revolution will redefine TV in the next 5-10 years.
Nilo Mitra, President of OIPF says “We continue to see innovation in the global market associated with the delivery of Internet TV services and we welcome Quiptel to the OIPF and look forward to their active participation in the work of the Forum.
