October 21, 2013

AMC/Sundance Channel Global, the international division of AMC Networks, has announced a slew of new worldwide launches for Sundance Channel and WE tv.

In Korea, Sundance Channel has been launched on leading IPTV provider LG Korea as a 24-hour linear high definition network. The network is already carried in the region on Skylife, and Olleh TV by KT and B.TV by SK Broadband. Sundance Channel is also launching on leading mobile network Taiwan Mobile as a mobile VoD service. This partnership adds to the network’s broad distribution in Taiwan where the network is available on Chunghwa’s MOD service, Dish HD, CNS and Vee Time’s Vee TV. In Thailand, TrueVisions has launched WE tv as a 24-hour high definition linear network. TrueVisions launched Sundance Channel for the first time in the country last year.

In Latin America, Sundance Channel will be launched on TV Cable Ecuador, the country’s largest cable provider. Through this partnership, Sundance Channel will be made available to subscribers as a 24-hour linear, high definition channel. This news comes off the heels of Sundance Channel’s September first ever launch in Latin America on DirecTV. The network is now available in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.

Bruce Tuchman, President of AMC/Sundance Channel Global, commented, “These exciting, new distribution agreements reflect the importance of Asia and Latin America as critical regions in our global expansion strategy. We continue to experience strong demand for our high quality, globally renowned entertainment available on Sundance Channel and WE tv. We also look forward to further supporting the authenticated on demand initiatives of our subscription television partners around the world.”
