FremantleMedia content for Chello

October 21, 2013

FremantleMedia International and Chello Central Europe have signed a content deal to deliver more than 270 hours of programming to Chello Central Europe’s five non-sports channels (Spektrum, Spektrum Home, Film Mania, Film Café and TV Paprika), as well as its SVoD and OTT platforms. In addition to giving CCE audiences access to key FremantleMedia brands, the agreement sees the channel network taking scripted content for the very first time, and includes a landmark 73 hours of Jamie Oliver lifestyle content which will provide flagship programming for CCE’s TV Paprika across several of its Eastern European markets.

The package includes a wealth of factual content such as four seasons of Anthony Bourdain’s two hit series, The Layover  and No Reservations, as well as Academy Award-winning director Oliver Stone’s ten-part documentary The Untold History of the United States. Both programmes will premiere on Spektrum in Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia from November this year.

Chello Central Europe’s film channels – Film Mania and Film Café – will also benefit from the FMI agreement, with a range of high quality and innovative scripted shows for Hungary and Romania which includes the Film Café premiere of Wedding Band, an American comedy-drama series starring Brian Austin Green and Harold Perrineau, and the Australian drama series Winners & Losers, currently in its third season.

Chello Central Europe’s Chief Programming Officer, Katalin Radóczy, said: “We are delighted to have this agreement in place with FremantleMedia International. The deal extends our long-term partnership and provides us with new programming genres and our channels in Central Europe with distinctive, high quality content, which will be consistent across all our markets. Having acquired so many hours of Jamie Oliver titles, we’re looking forward to developing him as the long-term face of TV Paprika across Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania.”
